Bethesda releases an enhanced version of Quake 2 for PC, PlayStation, Switch and Xbox

Bethesda has released an improved version of Quake 2 for current platforms.

This remastered version brings back the classic first-person shooter from 1997 with a treatment similar to 2021’s first Quake, with support for current resolutions and minor graphical improvements.

It wasn’t much of a surprise as a registration for Quake 2 Remastered appeared with the Korea Rating Agency last June.

This edition includes both Quake 2 and Quake 2 64, as well as the two mission packs for the original, The Reckoning and Ground Zero.

Also, a new expansion called “Call of the Machine” by MachineGames (Wolfenstein: The New Order) has been added with 28 new levels.

Multiplayer allows for crossplay between all platforms, and the PlayStation and Switch versions feature gyro aiming.

The game can be purchased for 9.99 euros, but is also available in Game Pass for PC and Xbox consoles.

Quake 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
