Konami has announced the opening of a new studio in the Japanese city of Osaka.
According to the Japanese company, the new studio is “an important production hub” that will follow the “creators first” mantra.
The new studio is located in the Osaka Umeda Twin Towers South and “characterizes itself as a well-developed environment where creators can show their full potential”.
“As a large production center in the western part of Japan,” they add, “the facility is fully equipped with motion capture equipment and sound studios required for product development.”
While it hasn’t been announced what projects the new Osaka studio is working on, we do know that Konami is working on new games and intends to revive some of its most iconic franchises.
A few months ago, several projects in the Silent Hill saga were announced and it was also rumored that Castlevania could return with a new game. Other rumors speak of a remastering/remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, which was originally developed together with Virtuous.
