Kathleen Kennedy has spoken again about Lucasfilm’s plans for the Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series. It all boils down to this: although they don’t plan to do a second season, They do not exclude that the protagonist will appear in other projects.
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy was the final guest on the Entertainment Weekly podcast. Dagobah Shipping, where he discussed whether there will be a second season of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi. In addition to confirming that Lucasfilm has no plans to expand the series.the President revealed It is possible that we will see the character in other series or films (above comic book).
“I always hesitate to say there will be no more Obi-Wan Kenobi,” Kennedy began. “Maybe we’ll integrate it into some of our other stories.. Or sometime in a movie, but who knows? For now, it’s still our standalone limited series.”
To this he added: “Currently we have no expansion plans”.
Despite Ewan McGregor’s desire to do another season of the series, Kennedy revealed at the 2023 Star Wars Celebration that while “there’s always a possibility” Season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi is not in development nor part of Lucasfilm’s plans. However, it’s good news that they’re considering introducing the character in other projects in the series.
