Arc System Works has announced that River City: Rival Showdown will be released in Japan on October 12th for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Rival Showdown was originally released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan in 2016 and released in the West a year later.
The new version will include improvements to the controls and screen layout, as well as a bonus game, Fighting of Double Dragon, which introduces Kunio-kun’s proprietary game systems.
River City: Rival Showdown was released as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the popular Kunio-kun series and features features such as a day/night cycle, multiple routes with different endings, two-player local co-op and super special moves like Turbo Stone Hands.
Whether the new versions for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC will arrive in the West at a later date is not yet known.
